[Craft A](https://crafta840129.thebase.in/?ref=news.knockology.com) is going slimmer. The Japanese maker has previewed a new wood-barreled mechanical pencil, the [MP204](https://x.com/%5FCraft%5FA/status/2108561202284810643?ref=news.knockology.com), with a 10 mm grip and a 9.5 mm wooden barrel, ahead of planned sales at November events.

In its October 9 announcement, Craft A describes the new model as thinner than the [MP203](https://crafta840129.thebase.in/?ref=news.knockology.com) and gives an approximate weight of 24 g, varying with the wood. The first photograph pairs richly figured barrels with bright metal grips and dark clips: the wood gets plenty of attention, but the dimensions are the useful part of this preview.

Those measurements give collectors something firmer to compare than a photograph alone. Weight still depends on the wood, and the announcement does not supply a price or lead diameter. Craft A also teases a hidden feature without explaining it yet.

The maker invites visitors to see the pencil at the [Tokyo International Pen Show](https://tokyo-international-penshow.com/?ref=news.knockology.com), running November 21–23\. Its sales wording is broader—November events—so the show date should not be treated as a confirmed first day of sale. Online and U.S. availability have not been announced in this preview.

## Something for the spare leads, too

A [separate October 3 preview](https://www.instagram.com/akira.tsuda/p/DeB83c6E5h0/?ref=news.knockology.com) gives pencil owners another reason to watch Craft A’s November plans: new refill cases. Although designed to carry ink cartridges, the larger L case also takes D1/4C pen refills and pencil leads, according to the maker.

It is a small but useful companion idea: the same interest in wood can extend to the consumables you carry. The cases are separate products; Craft A has not described them as accessories included with the MP204.
