IWI’s Japanese distributor is pitching FUSION mechanical pencils to students spending New Year gift money—and giving shops a specific plan for selling them. Inter-act’s September 23 announcement centers on an 18-pencil opening assortment, a display fixture and a sample customers can try.

The Japanese suggested retail price is ¥4,400 including tax. Shops ordering the specified package take three pencils in each of six variants, with delivery scheduled by early November for the Christmas, New Year and new-school-term selling periods.

Six finishes, one counter display

The assortment covers colored wood and carbon fiber, each paired with either brass or black hardware, plus two lacquer-art designs. It gives the shop six visibly different versions of FUSION at a common price.

Inter-act says eligible shops can arrange a dedicated fixture measuring 225 mm wide × 120 mm deep × 300 mm high. The support package also includes a FUSION booklet and one trial pencil per shop.

The sample is a useful part of the retail offer: it gives customers a way to handle the pencil before choosing a finish. The 18-unit arrangement is a wholesale campaign condition, rather than a consumer bundle or discount.

This is an expansion of the selling effort around an existing product. FUSION was already discussed on Knockology in February 2024. The new development is the coordinated Japanese retail package and its student-focused seasonal pitch; the announcement does not establish a first-ever Japanese launch.
