KAYOU+ is marking its first anniversary with 3,000 AIMVISION Edition_001 KOHAKU sets, each built around a numbered AIMVISION PRO mechanical pencil. Japanese release is scheduled for July 25, at ¥22,000 including tax.
The July 7 announcement puts the pencil at the center of a five-item collection: a dedicated cowhide case, combined ruler and letter opener, adjustable eraser case and A5 notebook accompany it. Sales are planned through selected KAYOU+ stockists.
A finish built around the brass
KOHAKU takes its color direction from amber. KAYOU says the finish combines the underlying brass color with gradient paint and a clear coating intended to reduce discoloration. Each pencil carries a serial number.
The product decision goes beyond recoloring an existing pencil: KAYOU is selling a coordinated collection at one package price. That positions the anniversary release differently from a standalone instrument. Buyers are paying for the supporting tools as well as the numbered pencil.
What the other four items add
The eraser case adjusts and locks the exposed length. The A5 notebook uses a 5 mm grid with 2.5 mm guide lines and sewn binding. Those are useful distinctions in a package that asks buyers to take a complete desk set rather than only the pencil.
KAYOU+ describes Edition_001 as the beginning of a way to record brand milestones. The announced limit is 3,000 complete sets, each with a numbered pencil—not 3,000 of each color or an open-ended anniversary range. The box gives the pencil quite an entourage, but it also defines the purchase.
