Pilot will raise Japanese suggested prices for selected pencils and consumables on July 1. Its May 1 notice lists a 15% increase for the S20, about 15.4% for the S10, and larger proportional increases for some replacement-eraser packs.
The table below extracts selected mechanical-pencil lines from Pilot’s four-page price list. All amounts include Japanese tax; calculated percentage changes are rounded to one decimal place.

An S20 buyer is looking at an extra ¥330 at list price. The S10 adds ¥220. Those amounts are useful alongside the percentages: a larger percentage on an inexpensive model can still mean a smaller change to the receipt.
Do not skip the consumables
Pilot lists its HERF-10 and HERFS-10 replacement-eraser packs at ¥110 before the change and ¥220 afterward—a 100% increase. Other listed eraser packs, including the N, NS and SS versions, move from ¥110 to ¥143, or 30%.
These are prices for the listed packs. They should not be read as prices per individual eraser, or as confirmation that a particular pack fits every Pilot pencil. Match the product code to the pencil before ordering.
The S20 and S10 changes draw the eye, but the eraser rows deserve their own look. A price list is also a record of the parts budget for keeping an existing pencil working. Retail discounts and overseas import costs remain separate from these Japanese suggested prices.
What this means for U.S. buyers
Pilot’s notice sets Japanese suggested prices; it does not give a U.S. price schedule or a U.S. effective date. The S20’s 15% increase therefore does not establish a matching increase at an American retailer. If you buy from Japan, compare the seller’s actual price and total delivered cost in dollars. A yen-to-dollar conversion of the list price alone is not a U.S. retail price.
