SEASAR and Pentel are adding KERRY Seasar Brown, a limited 0.5 mm mechanical pencil priced at ¥5,500 including Japanese tax. SEASAR’s June 26 notice schedules online sales for July 7, 2026, at 7 p.m. in Japan.
The edition combines a matte cap, translucent brown barrel and silver hardware. SEASAR describes the cap as the first matte finish on a Kerry sold in Japan. A revived Pentel 5 mark appears on one side, with Pentel × SEASAR branding on the other.
One opening, several delivery months
The release and ordering notice lets customers select delivery months from July through November. July is the earliest allocation; August and subsequent months are reservations. The initial limit is one pencil per customer.
That separation between ordering and delivery is important: the July 7 opening does not mean every order is due to arrive in July.
A familiar cap, a different finish
The Japanese-made edition retains the Kerry’s capped format. The cap covers the writing end for carrying and can be posted on the rear, where pressing its button advances the lead. SEASAR traces the design to the Kerry’s 1971 introduction.
For this version, the stated visual aim is to sit alongside wooden writing instruments and leather accessories. The matte cap, partly transparent barrel and returning logo distinguish the collaboration without changing the basic capped-pencil idea.
