Sun-Star opened its first official online store at 10 a.m. on September 25, creating a direct sales channel for the Japanese stationery maker behind the Shindbat mechanical pencil. The launch assortment puts its Bonbon Drop stickers at the center of the opening campaign.
A launch built around timed releases
The opening schedule uses two different sales methods. A Snoopy set is offered through a members-only lottery running September 25–27, while Rilakkuma sets go on sale from opening day. Nontan sets are scheduled for October 5 and Ocha-Ken for October 13. These are the dates in the Japanese launch notice, not a promise of continuing stock.

That gives the new shop a role in handling product drops and customer registrations, rather than simply displaying a catalog. The company also offers 200 points, worth ¥200, for registrations through the end of October, under the opening promotion’s terms.
What it means for the pencil business
Sun-Star already has a visible mechanical-pencil success in Shindbat, winner of GetNavi’s 2026 stationery election. The new store adds a place to watch for future releases, but the opening announcement does not confirm the full pencil range, spare parts or international delivery.
The news is the new retail channel. Its selection—and whether future pencil launches reach it—will determine how useful it becomes to this part of Sun-Star’s customer base.
