Nohara sets October 21 reservations for 2027 deliveries

The next Japan-only order window covers January–June deliveries. Store sales pause October 14, and no opening hour is fixed.

Nohara Kogei has set October 21 for its next wooden writing-instrument reservations, covering deliveries from January through June 2027. For collectors following its wooden mechanical pencils, this is the next ordering date to know—with a significant limit for readers abroad: the official store accepts orders and ships only within Japan.

The October 9 notice says reservations will open once preparations are complete on October 21. There is no fixed start time, and Nohara says it will not answer inquiries asking for one.

Three dates to keep straight

  1. October 14, afternoonAll online-store sales pause while Nohara prepares. Individual product pages will also be unavailable during the pause.
  2. October 21Reservations are scheduled to open when the store is ready. The maker has not specified an hour.
  3. January–June 2027The delivery period covered by this round. Individual timing follows in the reservation confirmation.

That separation matters. October 21 is an opportunity to reserve future production, not an announcement that pencils will ship immediately. The temporary disappearance of a product page during preparation should not, by itself, be read as a discontinuation.

What the ordering rules mean

The reservation guide, updated for October 2026, limits purchases to one item per person or household and requires a store account. Payment is by bank transfer after Nohara sends its manually prepared reservation-confirmation email; the guide says that email can take about two weeks.

The same guide says orders from outside Japan are not accepted. It also announces temporary restrictions on access from overseas IP addresses around the reservation window, citing security and server-load concerns. U.S. readers may therefore be unable to browse the store during that period as well as being unable to order directly.

For eligible buyers, the useful preparation is straightforward: review the current range and ordering rules before the October 14 pause, then treat the later confirmation as the source for the delivery details of an accepted reservation.
